ONGC Selection Criteria & Medical Rules
- Final Selection Weightage : The selection parameters are mapped out of 100 Marks. It consists of CBT Score (85% Weightage) and Personal Interview (15% Weightage). Shortlisted candidates in a 1:5 ratio will be called for interviews based on CBT scores.
- CBT Qualifying Minimum Marks : General/EWS/OBC candidates must score a minimum of 45% marks. SC/ST/PwBD candidates require a minimum of 40% marks to qualify.
- Interview Qualifying Minimum Marks : General/EWS/OBC candidates must score at least 60% marks (9 out of 15 marks). SC/ST/PwBD candidates must secure a minimum of 40% marks (6 out of 15 marks).
- Medical Standards Restrictions : Complete or partial color blindness and night blindness are NOT acceptable for any stream under this advertisement. Myopia or Hypermetropia (including cylinder) must not exceed -4.00 D or +4.00 D parameters respectively.
- Eligibility Cutoff Rule : Only those candidates who have already acquired the regular qualifying degree on or before the application last date are eligible. Qualification acquired via distance mode is accepted only if recognized by central statutory bodies.

How to Apply for ONGC E1 Geologist & Engineer Recruitment 2026
- Eligible and interested candidates can register their application online strictly through the official ONGC portal website between 17 July 2026 and 31 July 2026.
- Strict Selection Rule: A candidate can apply for only ONE single academic or engineering stream based on their qualifications. If multiple forms are found, only the latest application copy will be considered valid.
- Keep essential registration credentials ready: Active Mobile number & Email ID to receive the baseline registration verification OTP.
- Upload specified scanned documents in your profile section: Photograph with white background (20-50 KB jpg/jpeg format), Candidate Signature image (10-20 KB jpg/jpeg format).
- Upload the following necessary support certificates inside the portal strictly in PDF format (Each file must not exceed 500 KB): Class 10th Certificate for DOB confirmation, consolidated mark sheets for all semesters, essential degree certificate, Identity Proof (Aadhar/Voter Id/DL), and PAN card.
- Pay the application registration fee of Rs. 1000/- online if you belong to General, OBC, or EWS categories. SC, ST, and PwBD candidates are exempted from payment.
- Cross-verify all fields inside the preview page completely before clicking submit. Save a printed copy of the generated ONGC Registration Slip and your Admit Card copy for tracking metrics.
