 The Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam, has announced a new apprenticeship recruitment drive for ITI Trade Apprentice positions under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Through Advertisement No. IGCAR/03/2026, a total of 200 apprenticeship training opportunities are available in various technical trades. Candidates who have completed 8th/10th class along with an ITI qualification in the relevant trade are eligible to apply. The online application process will commence on 20 July 2026 and remain open until 19 August 2026. Applicants are advised to review the complete notification for trade-wise vacancies, eligibility criteria, stipend details, age requirements, and selection procedure before applying.

(Fitter, Electrician, Electronic Mechanic, Turner, Machinist, etc.)		 Rs. 11,040/- Per Month Must hold a valid ITI Pass Certificate issued by NCVT or SCVT in the matching concerned trade.
Academic Base: Passed Matriculation / 10th standard exam. For trades like Welder, Carpenter, Plumber, and Mason, a minimum of 8th standard pass is required.
1 Year Duration ITI Qualification
(Welder, Plumber, Book Binder, PASAA, etc.)		 Rs. 10,560/- Per Month
IGCAR Kalpakkam Apprentice Shortlisting & Selection Process
  • NO WRITTEN EXAM : Candidates will be shortlisted strictly on the basis of the percentage of marks obtained in their ITI trade course.
  • ITI Marks Tie-Breaker Formula : In case of a tie in the ITI percentage, the candidate with a higher percentage obtained in their 10th standard (or 8th standard for Welder, Carpenter, Plumber, Mason) will be placed higher on the merit list.
  • Secondary Tie-Breaker Rule : If the school percentage is also identical, the candidate born earlier (older by age) will be considered first.
  • Document Verification (DV) : Shortlisted candidates must physically appear for original certificate re-checking, failing which their selection will be cancelled. A Police Verification Certificate from the local station is mandatory at this stage.
  • Medical Fitness : Final engagement depends on qualifying the standard medical examination prescribed by the competent authority.
  • Training Note : The training period is locked for 1 Year at Kalpakkam, Tamil Nadu. There is completely no provision or obligation for permanent regular employment upon course completion. Paid hostel accommodation is provided subject to availability.
How to Apply for IGCAR Trade Apprentice Online Form 2026
  • Mandatory Step 1 (Portal Registration): Candidates must first register on the official National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) web portal at https://www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in. You must complete your Aadhaar e-KYC verification on the portal. Note down your unique Registration Number (e.g., AXXXXXXXXXX).
  • Mandatory Step 2 (IGCAR Application): Visit the official IGCAR website at www.igcar.gov.in and click on Opportunities -> Recruitment tab between 20 July 2026 and 19 August 2026.
  • Candidates can submit an online application form for only ONE single trade stream.
  • Provide your registered NAPS enrollment number, active email ID, and working mobile number during entry blocks. Keep them active throughout the selection process lifecycle.
  • Upload the necessary support documents in neat PDF format: Caste / EWS / Disability certificates if applicable, and matching 8th/10th marksheet along with ITI Trade Certificate and semester-wise consolidated marksheets scanned together as a single PDF.
  • Verify all details carefully on the review page before executing the final submission link. No correction request will be allowed after submission.
  • Submit the form and take a clear print out copy of the generated application confirmation page to bring during original document verification.
