H.P. Govt Employees Age Limit : Relaxable up to 45 years for HPAS and other posts (Tehsildar, BDO, Treasury Officer) and up to 42 years for HPPS / District Controller posts.

HPPSC HPAS 2026 Selection Scheme & Examination Pattern

Stage 1: Preliminary Examination (Screening Test)
Stage 2: Main Written Examination
Stage 3: Personality Test (Interview).
Preliminary Examination Pattern (Objective Type | 400 Marks) :
• Paper-I: General Studies: 100 Questions (200 Marks) – 2 Hours (Merit determining paper)
• Paper-II: Aptitude Test: 100 Questions (200 Marks) – 2 Hours (Qualifying paper with minimum 33% marks)
Negative Marking in Prelims : Deductions of 1/3rd (0.33) marks for every wrong answer.
Main Examination Structure : Includes 6 Compulsory Papers (English, Hindi, Essay, GS-I, GS-II, GS-III) and 2 Optional Subject Papers. Candidates must score at least 40% in compulsory English & Hindi papers.
Exam Cities : Bilaspur, Chamba, Hamirpur, Kangra, Dharamshala, Palampur, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Nahan, Solan, Una, Sundernagar, and Rampur Bushahr.
