 The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Central Railway has released the official notification for Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 under Employment Notice No. RRC/CR/01/2026. A total of 59 vacancies have been announced for Group ‘C’ and Level-1 posts in various sports disciplines. Eligible sportspersons from across India can apply online for these positions and pursue a career with the Ministry of Railways. The online application process started on 15 July 2026 and will remain open until 14 August 2026. Candidates are advised to carefully read the official notification for details regarding sports eligibility, educational qualifications, age limit, selection procedure, application fee, pay scale, and other important recruitment instructions before applying online.

APPLICATION FEE
  • UR / OBC / EWS : ₹ 500/-
    (₹ 400/- refundable upon appearing in trials)
  • SC / ST / PWD / ESM / Female / Minorities / EBC : ₹ 250/-
    (₹ 250/- refundable upon appearing in trials)
  • Pay the Examination Fee through Online NET Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card OR Pay UPI Mode.
Age Limit Details (as on 01/01/2027)
  • Minimum Age: 18 Years
  • Maximum Age: 25 Years
  • No age relaxation is permissible for OBC and SC/ST candidates in sports quota recruitment.

Educational Qualifications Required
  • Group C (Level 5/4): Graduation Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
  • Group C (Level 3/2): 12th Pass OR Matriculation with Act Apprenticeship / ITI.
  • Level 1 (Erstwhile Group D): 10th Pass OR ITI OR National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC).
  • Sports Achievements: Relevant representation and podium finish as per designated sports norms in Olympic, World, Asian, or National level championships.
Selection Process Methodology
  • Stage 1: Document Verification (DV)
  • Stage 2: Selection Sports Trials (Minimum 25 out of 40 marks required to qualify)
  • Stage 3: Evaluation of recognized Sports Achievements (Maximum 50 Marks)
  • Stage 4: Educational Qualification Evaluation (Maximum 10 Marks)
  • Stage 5: Medical Fitness Test

  • Upload scanned copies of a recent passport-sized photograph, signature, and necessary educational & sports certificates.
  • Pay the designated application fee online and submit the application. Take a printout of the registration form for future reference.
