 Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has released the official notification for Act Apprentice Recruitment 2026 under the Apprentices Act, 1961. A total of 6,777 apprenticeship training slots are available across various divisions, workshops, and units of N.F. Railway. The online application process will begin on 20 July 2026 (09:00 AM) and remain open until 19 August 2026 (05:30 PM). Candidates who have passed Class 10 and possess a relevant ITI certificate are eligible to apply. Applicants should carefully read the official notification for trade-wise vacancies, eligibility criteria, age limit, and other important recruitment details before submitting the online application.

Designated Trades & Educational Qualification Criteria

(6 Months for Automation Maintenance)		 Must have passed Matriculation (Class 10th exam) or its equivalent under 10+2 system with minimum 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized board.
AND
Must possess National Trade Certificate (ITI) in the notified trade issued by NCVT / SCVT.
Medical Laboratory Technician
(Pathology / Radiology)		 01 Year and 3 Months Must have passed 12th class examination under 10+2 system of education with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in both 10th and 12th standards.
NFR Act Apprentice Selection Methodology & Stipend Rates
  • NO WRITTEN EXAMINATION : Candidates will be shortlisted strictly on the basis of academic merit position. The merit score list will be prepared by taking the average of percentage marks obtained in Matriculation (Class 10th) + ITI trade marks.
  • Tie Case Formula : When two or more candidates score equal marks, the candidate senior by age (older) will be ranked higher. If the date of birth is also identical, the candidate who passed the matriculation exam earlier will be preferred.
  • Monthly Stipend Rate : Apprentices will be paid a monthly stipend as per prescribed government guidelines. Currently, the minimum base stipend for NTC/STC holders is Rs. 9,600/- per month, which increases to Rs. 10,560/- for the 2nd year and Rs. 11,040/- for the 3rd year if applicable.
  • Accommodation Note : No hostel or housing accommodation will be provided to the selected apprentices during their training timeframe.
  • Future Career Benefit : Course Completed Act Apprentices trained in railway establishments will be given a 20% preference quota reservation in Level-1 (erstwhile Group D) recruitment drives subject to qualifying conditions.
How to Apply for NFR Act Apprentice Recruitment Online Form 2026
  • Eligible candidates should visit the official website link of NFR at www.nfr.indianrailways.gov.in between 20 July 2026 and 19 August 2026.
  • Navigate through General Info -> Departments -> Personnel -> Act Apprentice Notification link on the webpage.
  • Complete your registration to receive a unique registration number. Do not change your registered mobile number and email ID during the selection lifecycle.
  • Upload neat, visible scanned copies of your 10th Marksheet & Certificate, ITI Consolidated Marksheet & NTC trade certificate issued by NCVT / SCVT, along with matching community/caste certificates if applicable. For Medical Technicians, 12th PCB marksheet must be uploaded.
  • Pay the application fee of Rs. 100/- online using the secure integrated payment gateway link inside the portal. SC, ST, PwBD, EBC, and Female candidates are completely exempted from paying any fee.
  • Form Modification : Candidates can modify or correct their submitted online form by paying a modification fee of Rs. 50/- per occasion. However, basic core registration details cannot be changed.
  • Verify all details, submit the form completely, and take a clear print out copy of the generated application confirmation sheet. Do not send any physical document printouts to the RRC office by post.
