 The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially published the notification for the CSIR UGC NET June 2026 Examination on its official website. This national-level examination is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professor positions, and admission to Ph.D. programs in various science disciplines across India. The online registration process commenced on 27 May 2026, and interested candidates can submit their applications through the official portal until 19 June 2026. APPLICATION FEES
  • General Category Candidates: ₹ 1150/-
  • General-EWS / OBC-NCL Candidates: ₹ 600/-
  • SC / ST / Third Gender Candidates: ₹ 325/-
  • PwD / PwBD Disabled Candidates: ₹ 325/-
  • Pay the Examination Fee through Online NET Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card OR Pay UPI Mode.

 

Age Limits & Scheme of Examination
Age Limit Criteria (As of July 2026):
  • Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): Not more than 30 years. A relaxation of up to 5 years is granted to OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, Third Gender, and female applicants.
  • Assistant Professor & PhD Admission: There is no upper age limit layout enforced.
Exam Pattern Overview:
  • Mode of Exam: Computer Based Test (CBT)
  • Duration: 180 Minutes (3 Hours)
  • Question Type: Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Exam Language Medium: Hindi and English

  • General / EWS Stream: Minimum 55% aggregate marks in Master’s Degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
  • OBC-NCL / SC / ST / PwD / Third Gender: Minimum 50% aggregate marks required in Master’s Degree or equivalent layout.
  • Four-Year Bachelor’s Programme: Candidates possessing a 4-year Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 75% marks (70% for reserved classes) are also eligible.
  • Appearing Candidates: Candidates currently pursuing their Master’s degree or awaiting final results are provisionally permitted to apply.
